Gallaghers have long-standing connections with Canada.
One of the earliest pieces of information we received (via the late May McClintock, Letterkenny) relates to a Gallagher from Letterkenny who established a business in St. John’s, Newfoundland, in the early 1800s.
A leading historian of immigration into Canada was herself a Gallagher — Marianna O’Gallagher, whose work remains an important contribution to Canadian and Irish-Canadian history.
Share Your Gallagher–Canada Story
If you are one of the many people with Gallagher connections to Canada, we would very much like to hear from you about your own story and/or your family’s history.
At a later stage, we hope to publish selected stories on this site — only with the express permission of those who submit them.
