Gallaghers on Film, TV, Radio and the Stage

Peter Killian Gallagher

Actor in film, television, stage and much more in the entertainment field.

His greatgrandfather left Ballinamore, Co. Donegal, for the USA in the mid-1800s and with his brother, became a coal miner in Pennsylvania. They both died young. Peter’s grandfather, also a miner, remembering his own tough upbringing, aimed to educate his family and all his children were educated in the University of Notre Dame.  After a period of military service during World War 2, which included taking part in the Normandy Landing, Peter’s father became an advertising executive.

Peter was born in New York. He is doubly blessed, having connections with another Gallagher line originating in Annagary, Co. Donegal. He got interested in the stage during high school and this interest developed during his time in university. After university he got the option to join the cast of the musical “Hair” but instead choose to tour with the show “Grease” and he eventually made Broadway in “Grease”. The rest is history!
